To continue with today's surrealism theme, a group of artists has erected a giant, "toilet-paper-pink" bunny on a hillside in Italy. Many news reports focus on the "as if knitted by giant grandmothers" part of their artists' statement, and ignore the fact that there is a wound on the side of the bunny with innards spilling across the mountainside. Being an optimist means not flinching from the truth, and here at R.O. we aren't afraid to show the less savory elements of this story:
gelitin.net (Gelatin) says that at least one goal is "to make you feel as small as a daisy," referencing Gulliver in Lilliput "as you approach the "heart, liver and intestines...over woolen kidney and bowel," "now small like a maggot."
"Happy you leave like the larva that gets its wings from an innocent carcass at the roadside.
Such is the happiness which made this rabbit.
i love the rabbit the rabbit loves me."
Does this sound like your grandmother? Was your grandmother Frida Kahlo, perhaps?
